Upstairs, downstairs

Upstairs, downstairs,
Upon my lady’s window,
There I saw a cup of sack,
And a race of ginger,

Apples at the fire,
And nuts to crack,
And a little boy in the cream pot,
Up to his neck.

Upon a rock top

Upon yon nearest rock-top
Can you see a dwelling stands?
Ah, ‘tis the sweetest dwelling
Found in these mountain lands!

It holds the sweetest lady!
She is rich with golden hair,
Has clever, busy fingers,
Though so small and lily fair.

They wash, they starch, they broider,
They can spin, mix oaten cake,
And grind the white wheat finely
The dainty loaves to bake.

And when that sweetest lady
Shall be mine, my own to hold,
Ah, Earth to match her beauty
Will wear a crown of gold!

Up the wooden hill to Blanket Fair

Up the wooden hill to Blanket Fair,
What shall we have when we get there?
A bucket full of water,
And a pennyworth of hay,
Gee up, Dobbin, all the way

Up the tall white candlestick

Up the tall white candlestick
(Make left arm into candlestick)

Crept little Mousie Brown
(Two fingers of fight hand run up the candlestick)

Right to the top but he couldn’t get down
(Fingers wiggle at top)

So he called to his Grandma
(Call through cupped hands)

Grandma! Grandma!
But Grandma was in town
So he curled himself into a ball
And rolled himself right down
(Clench both fists and roly-poly them round each other)

Up in the green orchard

Up in the green orchard
There is a green tree,
The finest of pippins
That you may see;
The apples are ripe,
And ready to fall,
And Robin and Richard
Shall gather them all.

Up at Piccadilly

Up at Piccadilly, oh!
The coachman takes his stand,
And when he meets a pretty girl,
He takes her by the hand.

Whip away for ever, oh!
Drive away so clever, oh!
All the way to Bristol, oh!
He drives her four-in-hand.

Under the sun

For every evil under the sun
There is a remedy or there is none.
If there be one try and find it;
If there be none never mind it.

Uncle Simon

Uncle Simon he
Clum up a tree
To see what he could see,
When presentlee Uncle Jim
Clum up beside of him
And squatted down by he.
